Damian Kercz

Junior Human-Centered Design Specialist
BA, MArch

Damian is interested in the potential of architecture and design to influence the mental health and wellbeing of people, especially in underserved or underrepresented communities.

As a human-centered design specialist, Damian provides consulting services to improve the design of built spaces to meet and exceed accessibility requirements in Canada. His approach is informed by his skills in 3D modeling, BIM software and graphic design, as well as his substantial background in health and the environment.

At Human Space, he has conducted accessibility drawing reviews, conducted on-site audits to identify accessibility non-compliance and provided design recommendations for large projects, such as Brampton Transit Facility and Rogers facilities. He is also involved in a federally-funded project for Accessibility Standards Canada to research, propose and test new ideas for the development of accessibility strategies with the intention that this work will inform and advance future national accessibility standards for federally-owned heritage buildings.
