We are a global collaborative of specialists working with placemakers and city builders to create people-first environments where accessibility, equity and wellness drive lasting social and economic value.
Human Space is BDP’s inclusive design and advisory practice, operating globally and through BDP Quadrangle (Quadrangle Architects Limited) in Canada. We combine global design innovation with deep expertise in accessibility, inclusion and human experience.
We place people at the centre of every decision, embedding equity across the full spectrum of human diversity, including mobility, vision, hearing, cognition, strength and stature, as well as intersectional factors such as age, culture and gender expression. Our work moves beyond minimum compliance to deliver environments that support dignity, independence and connection.
Our multidisciplinary team of strategists, designers and researchers partners with communities, clients and project teams to develop solutions grounded in both technical rigour and lived experience. We integrate policy insight, design expertise and real-world application to influence outcomes at every scale - from individual buildings to campuses and city systems.
Over the past decade, we have delivered more than 300 inclusive design projects across civic, cultural, residential, healthcare, education, workplace and transportation sectors. We collaborate with governments, agencies, institutions, developers and design teams to bridge policy, practice and delivery, helping embed inclusion as a measurable and enduring outcome.
From early visioning and feasibility through to design advisory and post-occupancy evaluation, we bring creative thinking, evidence-based analysis and care to every project. Our approach delivers measurable impact for people of all ages and abilities, while strengthening the long-term social, cultural and economic value of the places we help create.
