Human Space recently hosted an interdisciplinary panel of experts to discuss all things ESG (environmental, social, and governance) and assess how equitable and human health-focused design creates long-term value for both investors and residents, examining subjects like:
-
- How all levels of government, developers, and community organizations are complying to guidelines and frameworks created around ESG targets, and why more than just lip service is needed to achieve these goals.
- ESG factors raise more complex issues like how investors behave, how to give priority to good health outcomes, and what real community engagement looks like in a professional world.
The invited panel of subject-matter experts included Lauren Zullo (Managing Director of Impact, Jonathan Rose Companies), Marc Norman (Associate Dean, NYC Schack Institute of Real Estate), Gigi Li (Vice President, Government & Community Relations, New York City Economic Development Corporation) and Ossie Airewele (Residential and Mixed-Use Lead – North America, BDP). The session was moderated by Rosalind Tsang (New York City Studio Director, BDP).
