Last month, we facilitated a discussion with an interdisciplinary panel of specialists examining the transformative potential of inclusive storytelling within design visualizations. The webinar centered on how inclusive visual representations can cultivate more authentic and diverse designs that better address the needs of all users. Key topics addressed include:
- How inclusive narratives conveyed through visualizations can influence perceptions and foster inclusivity in design outcomes;
- Practical strategies for building and deploying a diverse People Library to generate inclusive and genuine visual representations; and
- The positive impact of inclusive visualizations on both clients and communities, promoting a sense of belonging and representation.
The panel of experts includes our very own, Lorene Casiez, Accessibility and Wellness Lead at Human Space; Vicky Casey, Leeds Studio Lead at BDP; and Nicholas Dabideen, Associate and BIM/Design Technology Specialist at BDP Quadrangle. They shared practical steps to develop and implement a People Library and explore the positive impact these efforts can have on clients and communities.
This engaging discussion highlights the importance of thoughtful and inclusive visual representations in creating designs that truly reflect and serve the needs of all users.
