Daniel Luong
Senior Accessibility Specialist
B.A
Daniel Luong is an accessibility specialist and data specialist with a comprehensive understanding of barriers to access.
Daniel focuses on accessibility audits and consulting projects. He coordinates scheduling with clients to ensure auditors have access to buildings without disrupting services. In addition, he visits building sites to complete accessibility audits, drafting follow-up reports with recommendations and graphical presentation. Daniel is our practice’s go-to for data analysis - he is an expert at using Excel to track and analyze commonalities in compliance on site and further develops criteria for clients to score and compare individual sites or buildings.
His passion for inclusive design began with policy research as it pertains to Toronto’s food economy. His experience working as a surveyor, researcher and analyst provided exposure to the visible barriers to access in the built environment and to the invisible barriers of access contained within social economic relations. Daniel’s background in urban planning provides a secondary perspective in understanding how the built environment affects how people of varying ability and perception have access to and navigate their surroundings. Daniel is experienced in coordinating and auditing large-portfolio projects and has been a key team member on consulting projects that include large-scale public transportation projects as well as institutional projects.
