Human Space has been engaged to conduct an audit of the Metrolinx GO Network across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) to determine how existing infrastructure performs in terms of accessibility, usability and safety.
The audit will consider the customer journey of persons with disabilities, identify and illustrate risks and opportunities, and prioritize practical recommendations that improve user experience and maximize value. The audit will inform state of good repair activities, stations renovations, capital planning and related prioritization of station works.
Metrolinx adopted its Universal Design Standard in 2019 which has helped establish quality, consistency, and equity in the customer experience of those with disabilities. This work will build upon those standards by helping close the gaps across numerous stations in the network and increase consistency in the provision and quality of accessibility.
