Niagara Region Accessibility Audits

The Project

Human Space completed a comprehensive assessment of 27 Niagara Region facilities against provincially regulated accessibility standards and adopted better practice standards such as the Town of Oakville Universal Design Standards (OUDS).

Facilities included in the accessibility audits had a high degree of public facing spaces and traffic. Human Space collected a high level of detail for all points of measurement noted in the evaluation criteria. The accessibility audits included assessment of all common exterior and interior elements and amenities, and facility specific requirements as listed in the OUDS. Human Space delivered final accessibility audit reports for each facility that included a summary of findings, photo appendix of key findings, existing drawing markups, and checklist including priority of remediation to accessibility barriers and cost analysis.
