The Project
The Town of Collingwood’s Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) sought to explore and create a universal icon that was illustrative of inclusion beyond only physical needs for digital communications and public spaces, in order to support communication, build awareness and draw attention to accessibility.
To support this initiative, Human Space engaged with stakeholders and the local Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) through a co-design workshop, the preparation of a graphic icon study with options for review and the finalization of a preferred universal icon. Throughout this process, Human Space prepared
materials, facilitated and delivered a workshop with stakeholders and the local AAC, as well as presented study findings and incorporated workshop feedback to determine the final icon. We leveraged our expertise in accessibility, inclusion, precedent research, facilitation and graphic design to deliver the project.
